An arson investigation was under way on the south side Monday morning after a home caught fire twice in one week.

Fire crews were called to the home, located in the 3300 block of South Eighth Street, just before 3 a.m.

When they arrived, firefighters found smoke coming from the rear of the home.

The home was already damaged from a fire Thursday, at which time a man inside the home was forced to flee unharmed.

The fire was contained quickly and arson investigators descended on the scene to find the cause. Investigators said that they believed Monday's fire was intentionally set.
