The city of Columbus is adding 120 new metered parking spaces along High Street.

The first ones will be installed Oct. 15 on both sides of High Street, between Goodale and Mound streets.

The installation will begin on the west side of the street.

The meters will allow for three hour parking in the spaces.

Parking on both sides of High Street, between Goodale and Mound streets, will be prohibited weekdays between 7-9 a.m. and between 4-6 p.m., allowing COTA buses to travel curb lanes to drop-off and pickup riders.

"More convenient parking on High Street will make shops and restaurants along High Street more accessible and downtown more active and vibrant," said Mayor Michael B. Coleman.

The new meters will be able to accept credit and debit cards or coins.
