Boy, 11, Flown To Columbus Hospital After Falling From Vehicle While Car Surfing

An 11-year-old boy was taken by helicopter to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus after striking his head on the ground while car surfing Thursday.

Blade DeMint was car surfing on a vehicle driven by the 29-year-old mother of DeMint's 11-year-old friend.

The vehicle was near 80 Logan Street at about 2:45 p.m. at the time of the crash, according to police.

The extent of the juvenile’s injury was unknown.

The crash was still under investigation, and charges could be filed pending the investigation.

Sixteen-year-old Jacob Wolfe died in September in Chillicothe from an injury sustained while car surfing.
