The Ohio Attorney General’s Office said the state has settled a lawsuit about medical care for prison inmates.
Attorney General Mike DeWine announced that the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction and Ohio Justice and Policy Center reached a settlement agreement on the ongoing improvements to medical care for prison inmates in Ohio.
In 2003, 10TV News and The Columbus Dispatch produced a series of reports on the inadequate medical care in Ohio's prisons.
The reports series exposed wrongful deaths, inadequate care and questionable doctors and helped trigger the lawsuit.
DeWine said the case is now closed and that the state has come a long way in improving care for its inmates.
