Investigators: Pharmacist Admits To Stealing More Than 5,000 Oxycodone Tablets

A licensed pharmacist was arrested after investigators said he admitted to stealing Oxycodone from work.

According to the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, Fadi R. Smiley, of Dublin, admitted that he was addicted to Oxycodone and to the thefts. Authorities recovered the tablets from his home while serving a search warrant.

Investigators said that Smiley admitted to stealing the tablets within a five-month period in 2012.

The investigation into Smiley began after his workplace reported losses of the drug.

Smiley was arrested and charged with theft of drugs. He was booked into the Delaware County Jail.
