UPDATED: Thursday September 27, 2012 11:13 AM
A teenager remained in critical condition after being struck by a dump truck while riding his bicycle.

According to the teenager’s family attorney, Daniel Hughes, 18, lost his entire leg up to his pelvis after being struck on Sept. 5.

Hughes was struck near 146 Woodruff Ave. as the truck was either entering or leaving a construction site, police said.

Doctors still are not sure about Hughes’ neurological function, the attorney said.

Hughes is an honors engineering student in his first year at Ohio State.

On Thursday, the family placed an ad in Ohio State's Lantern newspaper in an effort to find witnesses to the crash.
