A Columbus man and a woman from Georgia are in federal custody after troopers said that they seized drugs and a gun from their SUV.

Troopers stopped a speeding vehicle along Interstate 70 in Madison County on Thursday at about 7 a.m. and found 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, worth more than $120,000, and a handgun.

According to the OSHP, the drugs and the gun were found in a void in the vehicle’s dashboard.

Both the man and woman, who were not immediately identified, were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation and possible charges.
