Police said that a man was shot Friday morning while escaping from a robber.
Authorities said that the gunman approached the victim in the Livingston-Beechwood area around midnight and demanded cash.
The victim ran after the would-be robber pulled a gun. The robber chased the victim to an east side Marathon Gas Station, where shots were fired.
The victim, who was shot in the stomach, was hospitalized in stable condition. Police were working to release a description of the shooter.
The identity of the victim was not released.
