Dozens lined up early at central Ohio stores for the chance to get their hands on the much-anticipated iPhone 5 Friday morning.
Tech-savvy shoppers saved spots hours before the 8 a.m. open of the Apple Stores, some started lining up as early as noon Thursday with lawn chairs and sleeping bags.
The craze is not limited to the United States. Apple's Asian fans are just as excited about getting the latest version of the iPhone 5. They have jammed shops in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore.
The smartphone is also being launched in the US, UK, Canada, France and Germany on Friday. It will go on sale in 22 more countries a week later.
Analysts have estimated Apple will ship as many as 10 million iPhone 5s by the end of September.
