Ohio State University officials said that students were allowed to return to their dorm rooms on Wednesday afternoon after a large water main break on Sunday evening.

Ohio State officials said that students in Park-Stradley Hall could return to their rooms after the building passed all safety inspections.

Students still will not have hot water or drinkable water for a few days.

Nearly 2,000 students were displaced after the break, which occurred under College Avenue, between Drinko and Smith Halls.

Ten to 12 inches of water accumulated in the basement of Park-Stradley Hall, which houses 1,100 students.
