Columbia Gas Warns Residents About Gas Odors On North Side

UPDATED: Wednesday September 19, 2012 1:43 PM

Columbia Gas officials said on Wednesday that residents on the north side could smell gas odors in the coming days as a major pipeline replacement project wraps up.

Columbia Gas officials said that the odor could be smelled in Clintonville and near the Ohio State University areas as well as in Grandview Heights, Upper Arlington and Worthington.

Crews will be removing natural gas from a pipeline that is being taken out of service. The gas will either be burned or vented into the air through what officials said is a "controlled, safe process and not a hazardous leak."

Anyone with concerns about possible gas leaks is asked to call Columbia Gas at 800-344-4077.
