Police said Tuesday afternoon that they believe two Dublin-area-bank robberies are connected the same suspect.

Security camera pictures identify the man as the 'Bad Beard Bandit' who has hit area banks in the past.

On Tuesday, the FirstMerit Bank at 7490 Sawmill Road was robbed just after 12:30 p.m. Then just after 2 p.m., the U.S. Bank located at 6320 Franz Rd. was robbed.

Authorities said the man that appears to use a fake black beard to conceal his identity was behind both of the crimes.

He's described as a white male around 5 feet 10 inches tall with a heavy build, approximately 170-200 pounds. Authorities believe he is between 40-50 years of age. He was wearing a tan cap, sports jacket, blue jeans, dark gloves and sunglasses.

The bandit walked into both banks and demanded money from tellers. It is not clear whether the suspect was armed.

There's no word on how much money was taken from each bank but some cash was seen on the ground outside the FirstMerit Bank.
