Chief Bruce Vaughan was fired in April after an internal investigation.
Chillicothe Mayor Jack Everson recommended that Vaughan, who was placed on administrative leave in early April, be fired after an investigation into the use of expired oxygen tanks.
10TV News uncovered that the fire department failed to appropriately inspect department equipment and went too long without inspecting compressed air bottles.
According to an attorney for Vaughan, the chief feels “vindicated by the civil service commission’s decision to reverse the termination” and Vaughan is “excited to return to the work he loves protecting the people of Chillicothe.”
