Pickerington Apartment Fire Ruled Arson; Reward For Information Offered

A fire that left several families without homes on Sunday night was set on purpose, according to the State Fire Marshal on Monday.

Eight units were damaged in the Lakes Edge Apartments, located along Lands End Circle, when the blaze started around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators said on Monday that they were able to eliminate all accidental causes and have information that the fire was intentionally set.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries while fighting the fire.

A Blue Ribbon Arson Reward of up to $5,000 was being offered to anyone with information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the fire.
