Emergency crews were working to pull a vehicle from a school building Monday morning.
According to investigators, the vehicle crashed into the Marysville Exempted Village Schools Board of Education building, located at 1000 Edgewood Dr. Crews were on the scene before 6:20 a.m.
Authorities on the scene said that the vehicle was "all the way into" the building.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Ernest William Otto II, 29, of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries. There was one person inside the building at the time of the crash who was not injured.
The events leading to the crash were under investigation.
School district officials said that substance abuse may have been a factor in the crash. There was no apparent connection between the district and the driver.
School officials closed the building for the day, but said that classes would not be disrupted.
Because of structural damage, school officials said that they temporarily would be working from the former Marysville Middle School building, located at 833 N. Maple St.
