Suspect Arrested For Murder Of Former Kentucky Basketball Player

A man is now in custody in connection with a murder last year on the east side of Columbus.

Richard Willis, 26, was arrested in West Virginia. He was accused in the shooting of Desmond Allison, a former University of Kentucky basketball player.

Police said that Allison was shot on Maryland Avenue around 4 p.m. on July 25, 2011.

Willis is being charged with aggravated murder. He was expected to be returned to Ohio next week.

Authorities said that there were two unidentified suspects that allegedly participated in Allison's murder who were still being sought.
