Newark Police issued an arrest warrant Friday for a man accused of striking his girlfriend with a car.

Newark Police Captain Barry Connell said Michael M. Sheck, 32, is accused of trying to run over Angela Stickle with a Honda Accord Thursday.

Connell said the couple was fighting in the car about getting evicted from a home.

Connell said Stickle was behind the wheel when the argument started. She pulled over and Sheck got behind the wheel.

Police said Sheck struck Stickle with the car and tried to run her over.

Stickle was injured and transported to Licking Memorial Hospital. She was in fair condition Friday night.

Sheck is charged with felonious assault.
