Police said that five people were suspected in a rash of car break-ins.
Officers tracked down two of the five, one 18-year-old and a juvenile, on Wednesday morning.
Investigators said that those suspected in the crimes were seen pulling car door handles in several neighborhoods, looking for easy targets.
Residents of the Penny Lane Mews Apartment complex, located at the corner of Penny Lane and Agler Road, awoke to an unwelcome surprise.
"Apparently, they took my radio," Alona Wolfe said.
Johns Jones said that thieves got into his Cadillac.
"They basically just broke into the car and trashed everything," Jones said.
Gahanna police were on the trail of the suspects at 2 a.m.
The officers spotted all five suspects who took off and ran.
The two of them were taken into custody were questioned and released to their parents after being charged for unrelated crimes.
Investigators were working to track down the other three people suspected in the break-ins. The identities of those involved were not immediately released.
No stolen items have been found so the suspects were not charged with the overnight break-ins.
