10TV has found that car break-ins nearly doubled this past month in southern Delaware County.
The Delaware County Sheriff's Office said that they found 20 reports of car break-ins in Powell as well as Concord and Liberty townships from Aug. 1- Sept. 11, 2012. There were only 11 during the same time in 2011.
In the past month and a half, burglaries in southern Delaware County have increased 500 percent, from three to 18, compared to that same period last year.
Investigators encouraged residents to be vigilant against crime and avoid becoming an easy target by locking doors and windows.
