The actions of a customer outside of a north side dry cleaner helped nab a robbery suspect.
Joe Isbell dropped off his laundry at the Getreu Dry Cleaners, located at 3013 Indianola Ave., in Clintonville on Monday.
Isbell said that he then saw a man acting suspiciously outside, so he took down his vehicle's license plate number.
"Some things just didn't add up," said Isbell. "Just seemed like he was out of place"
What Isbell did not know was that the man allegedly robbed the dry cleaner.
After leaving a store across the street, Isbell saw police at the cleaners.
"I went into the store, made my purchase, came back out within five minutes and I noticed police cars pulling up. So, I went back over to the cleaners and I said 'Hey, I know what kind of car it was and I have the license plate number as well,'" said Isbell.
With license number in hand, police found Kelvin D. Bridges, 51, a few miles down the road. Bridges was carrying cash and a toy handgun.
Isbell said he is thankful no one was hurt.
"Glad God gave me the good sense to think something was strange," said Isbell.
Bridges is charged with robbery.
Getreu Dry Cleaners has now reopened.
