Police are trying to track down a man who targeted a woman as she made her way home from church.

Kayla Merchant said that she was returning to her Forest Street home when she was robbed at knifepoint.

“I think he was hiding around the corner, so I didn’t see him,” Merchant said.

Merchant said that when the man approached her she screamed, but it did little to scare her attacker.

“He threw me down to the ground and then cut my purse off my body with a knife,” Merchant said.

She said the man searched through her purse, took her keys and stole her 2000 Honda Accord, but that was not all the robber got away with.

“My phone, glasses, wallet, all of my information,” Merchant said.

Merchant said that she hid behind a neighbor’s tree as her attacker drove away.

Police were searching for Merchant’s vehicle, with Ohio license No. EWX-8684. A description of the robber was not immediately provided.
