READ THE FACTS ABOUT WBNS-10TV AND DISH NETWORK
Although we have worked to try to negotiate with DISH for a fair deal for the carriage of WBNS-10TV, we have thus far been unsuccessful. We have become aware that there may be misinformation with respect to our negotiations with DISH and we wanted to give you the facts with respect to some important points.
• DISH failed to respond to our offer of an extension, and, on multiple occasions, DISH has delayed its responses to our counter-offers, while we have sought to negotiate in good faith.
• WBNS-10TV is the most watched channel on DISH’s system in Columbus, yet DISH is only willing to pay less than 10% of what other channels are paid. DISH is seeking deep-discounts versus other cable and satellite operators to improve their bottom line at the expense of their customers.
• Dispatch has successfully reached retransmission consent agreements with every other operator in the market, while DISH has been involved in multiple recent disputes with broadcasters and other programmers, some of which are still not carried today by DISH.
If you are concerned about not being able to watch WBNS on DISH’s system, please contact DISH at 1-800-333-3474 and let them know that they should engage in meaningful negotiations to restore the signal to the system. It is also important to know that you have many choices. You can always watch WBNS-10TV for free and in high definition over-the-air by using an antenna. We also have agreements with several other cable and satellite operators in your area, such as:
