Officers said a man came into the lobby of the jail located at 155 East Main St. in Newark and threatened to snort a line of meth.
They said the man then pulled out a straw and bag of white powder and proceeded to inhale it through his nose.
The man allegedly said he wanted to be arrested so he could come into the jail, go to sleep and get help for his drug problem.
Officers arrested him and took him to a jail cell for the weekend, but he was released without any charges being filed.
