The Ohio State Highway Patrol said troopers found drugs inside a vehicle during a traffic stop Monday in Guernsey County.

Troopers said they pulled over Brandon Hockenbury, 23, for allegedly following too close to another vehicle on Interstate 70 near, near milepost 178.

The trooper observed the passenger smoking marijuana. The trooper searched the vehicle and found drug paraphernalia, a small amount of marijuana, and a bottle containing the 2C-E strips.

Troopers said 2C-E is part of a family of drugs called psychedelic phenethylamines. It can produce psychedelic effects similar to LSD, but more intense and longer lasting. The effects can last up to ten hours.

Hockenbury, from Gowanda, New York, was charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The passenger, Joseph Cascioli, 22 , was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Hockenbury was taken to the Guernsey County Jail. If convicted he faces up to 12 months in prison and up to a $2,500 fine.
