Pregnant Bicyclist Struck, Killed In Fayette County

Deputies were investigating a deadly crash Tuesday morning.

According to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, a bicyclist was struck and killed along state Route 41 near Miami Trace High School.

Family members said that Leah Mootispaw was riding her bike in the dark when she was struck.

Mootispaw, 18, was transported to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and died a short time later.

Family members said that Mootispaw was recently engaged and was expecting her first child.

The events leading to the crash were under investigation. It was not known if the driver of the vehicle would face charges.
