Every year, thousands of students across central Ohio begin school without the money for new school clothes.
Charity Newsies opened its doors on Indianola Avenue to families in need of these back-to-school items on Tuesday.
Parents were able to come into the story and register their children for the program.
"It's great," said Charity Newsies Chairman Chuck Rundio. "Anytime you see a child coming out of our store carrying a bag bigger than he is full of clothes, it's great. They got a big smile on their faces, and you can't help but have a smile on your face."
Charity Newsies helped more than 13,000 Columbus-area children last year.
