Law enforcement officials were trying to figure out who was responsible for shooting and killing a man on the northeast side in August.

Mifflin Township police and Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home along Berrell Avenue on a report of a shooting at about 11:40 p.m. on Aug. 15.

Sharron Hayes was found inside the home with several gunshot wounds to the chest and arm.

Officers said that unknown people fired several shots through the living room window from outside the home.

The shots struck Hayes, who was in the living room at the time.

Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before midnight.

Two other adults and three children were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but they were not injured.
