Police released the mug shot of the man accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and then shooting her as she tried to get away on Friday.

Carlos Martin, 20, is charged with kidnapping and felonious assault after he allegedly kidnapped his ex-girlfriend, Coreena Ganzberg, and forced her to drive.

Ganzberg pulled into Columbus Fire Station #11, located on Case Road in north Columbus, and bailed from the vehicle. Martin is accused of shooting Ganzberg three times, once in the neck and twice in the shoulder.

Police said that Martin led them on a chase across northwest Columbus. He bailed from his vehicle after crashing it into the bank of the Olentangy River. Police took Martin into custody after wading into the river.

They were forced to shock Martin with a Taser to put him under arrest.

Ganzberg underwent surgery at Riverside Methodist Hospital, and was expected to be OK.
