Special Information:
Much-needed moisture associated with the remnants of Isaac will continue working into the region throughout the holiday weekend. We’ll likely see a wide range in rainfall totals due to the scattered nature of the showers and storms. Rain totals through Labor Day will likely be between 1-2 inches in most locations, with locally higher amounts where thunderstorms are found. We definitely need any rain we can get. Since June 1st, Port Columbus is running 5.8 inches below average in terms of rainfall.
Expect scattered showers and a few thunderstorms today with highs in the low to mid 80s. Showers will be likely tonight, Sunday and Labor Day too. You probably will want to keep your holiday weekend plans indoors this year.
We made it to 97 yesterday at Port Columbus. That temperature brings us to 47 days this summer with temperatures at or above 90 degrees. This summer is now tied with 1895 for 3rd all-time in Columbus for 90-degree days. The record is 49 set back in 1936 and tied in 1955.
