Police: Officer Struck By Driver Of Stolen Vehicle

Investigators said that a Columbus Division of Police officer was struck by the driver of a stolen vehicle on Thursday night.

According to investigators, the vehicle was stolen during a burglary. The officer was struck while attempting to stop the driver along Champion Avenue and Cole Street around 9 p.m.

The officer was taken to Grant Medical Center as a precaution. The condition of the officer was not immediately known.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, whose identity was not immediately released, was taken into custody.
