It’s been another hot one today with highs around 90 across central Ohio. Temperatures officially hit 90 at Port Columbus. We’ve now seen 43 90-degree days for the summer and that ties us for 6th all-time in Columbus.
We’ll stay dry and warm this evening for the kick-off to the high school football season. Skies will remain mostly clear overnight with lows ranging from the upper 50s to low 60s. Dry and warm conditions will likely continue into the weekend. Highs will be around 90 both Saturday and Sunday with a slight increase in humidity. Our next best chances for rain will come Sunday night into Monday with highs Monday in the mid 80s.
An Air Quality Alert has been extended into Saturday for sensitive groups as the weather conditions will lead to more smog formation. Smog forms when the sun bakes the pollutants from our vehicles, factories and other sources. Young children, the elderly and folks with respiratory conditions are urged to limit outdoor activities.
