Ohio State University’s new head football coach Urban Meyer wants to start a new tradition before football games.

In a video message to students, Meyer said that he wants to show the relationship between the best student body in the country and the football team.

Exactly 23 minutes before kickoff, players will join the crowd in what they call quick cals, led by coach Mickey Marotti.

“We’re going to do quick cals, which is what our players do before the game. We ask you to join. Can’t wait to see you. See you Sept. 1,” Meyer said.

The first Buckeye game of the season is scheduled for noon Sept. 1. Against Miami University of Ohio.
