A mother and her boyfriend were indicted on charges of felony child endangerment.

Tabitha Marie Raver and David Ray Scott Jr. were charged in connection with the death of 4-year-old Kendrick Breece.

Mount Vernon police said that they received an emergency call on Aug. 12 about an unresponsive boy.

The 4-year-old was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, where investigators said that the boy died.

According to a 911 call placed by the boy's mother, the boy fell down a set of stairs the day before.

During the call to 911, the mother said that he fell down the stairs twice that day, but that he was OK, until Aug. 12, when he stopped breathing.

Raver and Scott were being held in the Knox County Jail.
