Police said that someone shot a 12-gauge shotgun at a woman while she was driving.
Sherri Thomas said that she was driving near Waggoner and Chapel Stone roads at about 2 a.m. when she heard gunshots.
“For someone to have the audacity or the mind to do this, and they probably don’t’ even care,” Thomas said.
Thomas said that the sound of the shots were so loud that her ears hurt.
According to Thomas, she did not notice the extent of the damage to the passenger side of her vehicle until she got home.
“I knew I had to get home, safe and secure, get my husband to inspect the car,” Thomas said.
Police said that the person responsible for the shooting would be charged with criminal damaging, endangering and felonious assault.
Officers took a similar report of a person being shot at hours earlier in the same area.
