A father and son were hospitalized on Monday after being shot while sitting outside of a home.
According to police, the father, Kenneth Smith, 53, and son, Antwan Gregory, 30, were sitting outside a home, located along the 1200 block of Grovewood Avenue, at about 12:45 p.m.
Police arrested 19-year-old Tyrique R. Mayes in connection with the shooting a short time later.
Mayes, who was charged with two counts of felonious assault, was found at a home on Clarfield Avenue a few streets away from where the double shooting occurred.
Smith was in critical condition and undergoing surgery at Grant Medical Center. Gregory was recovering at the hospital.
