The Knox County Sheriff arrested and charged two people in connection with the death of a 4-year-old Wednesday.

The boy's mother, Tabitha Marie Raver, and her boyfriend, David Ray Scott Junior, were both charged with felony child endangering.

Raver and Scott were being held in the Knox County Jail Wednesday night.

Mount Vernon police said that they received an emergency call on Sunday about an unresponsive boy.

The 4-year-old was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, where investigators said that the boy died.

According to a 911 call placed by the boy's mother Sunday, the boy fell down a set of stairs on Saturday.

During the call to 911, the mother said that he fell down the stairs twice Saturday, but that he was OK, until Sunday when he stopped breathing.

The cause of the young boy's death was not immediately determined.

The Franklin County Coroner's Office was handling the autopsy.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call Knox County Sheriff Detective Tom Bumpus at (740)393-6800 or Mount Vernon Police Detective Craig Fenney at (740)393-9536.
