A woman said that she was sexually assaulted while walking down a street.

The victim, who requested anonymity, said that she had just left the Turkey Hill gas station, located along Stringtown Road, where she was checking up on a friend.

As she walked back to her hotel room, she said a man in a car made a lewd comment.

"He had asked me if I wanted to have sex with him and I just kept walking," she said.

The victim told police she was only able to get a few feet when the man pursued her.

"He got out of his vehicle and approached me," she said. "Just grabbed me in my lower region and I took off."

The victim said that the man took off in a blue Buick. She said that she was so traumatized that she did not immediately report the incident.

"I sat on some steps on the back side steps and cried for a good hour," she said. "I was kind of scared that he might come back and I really didn't know what was going to happen."

Police said that they believed it was an isolated incident.
