More parents are looking to local shops when buying back to school clothes for their children.

Angie Holmes, a mother of two, looked to Petit Green at Polaris for locally owned garb.

"That was the way I was brought up, to have special clothes on the first day of school, so I was over in this area and I thought id peak in," Holmes said.

Petit Green is a locally owned clothing store for babies and children.

It is also one of several shops featured in Columbus Parent Magazine.

Columbus Parent hopes parents will discover what local boutiques have to offer. While price ranges vary, there is always a way to save on the higher end clothing sold at these shops.

Some experts suggest buying unisex clothing and checking the summer clearance racks.
