A Pickaway County man pleaded not guilty to child endangerment after his girlfriend's toddler was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police said Joshua Miller was using heroin while watching the 19-month-old girl, when the child allegedly knocked a spoon filled with the drug onto the ground.
It's not clear what happened to the child after that, but police said she was hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage, bruises and a liver laceration.
Miller is scheduled to be back in court in September.
He faces up to eight years in prison if convicted.
