Boy, 14, Runs After Being Taken Into Police Custody

A boy is in police custody after fleeing from officers Tuesday afternoon.

Police said that the boy, whose identity was not released, was taken into custody at about 1 p.m. for allegedly stealing a "Gator" ATV from Hilliard Bradley High School.

The boy fled after being handcuffed.

The boy was found a short time later in a wooded area near Miranova Place and Interstate 70.

He is charged with a fifth degree felony in connection with the theft and also is charged in connection with escaping from police custody.
