A restaurant was evacuated Monday afternoon because of a gas leak.

According to the Upper Arlington Division of Police, construction crews exposed a gas line Monday morning.

Columbia Gas officials advised crews to work around the exposed line until they could have crews check it.

While working around the line, the exposed portion ruptured and began to leak.

The Graeter's Ice Cream, located at 1534 W. Lane Ave., was evacuated. Several other businesses chose to close.
