The Franklin County Board of Elections leased a vacant department store in North Columbus to serve as their early voting location.

The former Kohl’s Department Store, located at 1700 Morse Rd., will open to voters on Oct. 2.

The board wanted a location that could provide the parking spots and space necessary for crowds who hope to vote ahead of the Nov. 6 election. The location has been used in many recent elections.

The Franklin County Board of Elections will spend $75,000 for the building for three months.
