An Athens County judge sentenced a man to four years in prison for kidnapping a woman and threatening her life.

Adam Bryce Degg, 23, of Oregon, Ohio entered a guilty plea on Monday to aggravated burglary and kidnapping. Both charges have firearm specifications.

The Athens County Prosecuting Attorney Keller Blackburn said Degg kidnapped the woman, whose identity was not released, from a Burger King parking lot in Nelsonville on Dec. 6, 2011.

Blackburn said Degg then drove the victim to Marion County and threatened to kill her and himself. It was unclear if the woman was harmed.

Degg was sentenced to three years in prison for the aggravated burglary charge and another year for each gun specification.

Degg will spend five years under community control when he is released from prison. Degg was also ordered to pay restitution to the victim and refrain from contacting her or her family. It was unclear if the victim knew Degg before the attack.
