East State Street between 6th Street and Grant Avenue was closed Sunday after large parts of the roof of the building, located at 80 S. 6th St., fell to the sidewalk.
The building was the old Salesian Boys and Girls Club building that closed in 2008. A Catholic organization took up the space after it closed.
Fire crews cordoned off the area to make sure debris did not hit any pedestrians.
It was not immediately clear how long the road would be shut down, or what the plans were to safeguard the building.
