A boy faced charges on Friday in connection with the shooting death of a friend.
Levi Reed, 14, is charged with delinquency and reckless homicide for allegedly shooting and killing 14-year-old Noah McGuire.
McGuire was shot and killed shortly after 1 p.m. at a home, located along Fairlawn Drive on the north side, on July 5.
Reed admitted to playing with a handgun he found inside his house.
Three other children were at the home at the time of the shooting.
McGuire's mother told The Columbus Dispatch that she was against Reed's charge and said that charging him would only cause more suffering.
