Police said that they caught a man who led them on a chase from Marion to Delaware early Wednesday morning.

Investigators said that Zachary Anderson refused to stop for police in Marion when he allegedly failed to yield at about 2 a.m.

The chase continued to Delaware, where speeds reached up to 100 mph before Anderson, 25, crashed his car into an open field near U.S. Route 23.

After the crash, Anderson got out of the vehicle and ran further into a nearby cornfield. Police suspended the search for him while they spoke to a female passenger in the car, who did not attempt to flee.

Police said that they caught up with Anderson hours later in the area of state Route 229 and U.S. 23.
