Lancaster police said a father faces a charge of endangering children after his 10-year-old daughter crashed an SUV into a home.

Linda Dittoe said she was inside her home on Hunter Avenue Monday night when the SUV came crashing inside.

"We heard something like a gun shot," Dittoe said.  "All the neighbors heard it.  It sounded like an explosion of some kind."

Police said Jimmy Quiros told them he was teaching his daughter how to drive when she lost control of the SUV.

Quiros said he was able to get his daughter out of the car as it started moving.

Police said the car went down a hill, hit a parked car and struck the house.

Officers issued Quiros a summons to appear in court in lieu of arresting him.
