Sherman Hemsley was found dead inside his home, according to reports from the El Paso police.

The actor, who made “George Jefferson” a household name on “All In The Family” and its spinoff “The Jeffersons,” was 74.

Neighbors told a CBS station in El Paso, Texas, that Hemsley died overnight and likely died of natural causes. The Jefferson’s theme song “Movin’ On  Up” is still arguable one of the most popular TV theme songs of all time.

His TV wife “Weezy” was played by Isabel Sanford, who died in 2004.
