Neighborhood leaders say a city plan to revitalize Franklinton is a recipe for success.
The city unveiled a 20-year plan to add new housing, an arts district and high-manufacturing businesses to the area.
“If we take advantage of how close we are to downtown in east Franklinton, we think the success over there will carry over into this neighborhood, boosting the values for everybody and finally putting this neighborhood back on track for revitalization,” said Jim Sweeney of the Franklinton Development Association.
The Franklinton Area Commission plans to review the proposal in September, and city council could approve the plan as soon as October.
