Police Suspect Driver Who Struck, Killed Bicyclist Was Drunk

Police said that they suspected the driver who struck and killed a bicyclist on Sunday night was drunk.

The bicyclist, identified as Elissa Hatfield, was struck along the 5400 block of Fisher Road at about 11 p.m.

Hatfield, 19, was taken to Mount Carmel West Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators said that the driver, identified as 38-year-old Casey Hakes, stopped at the scene. Charges were expected to be filed.
